In order to stimulate young people's strong interest in the field of AI and application, and help them deeply explore the mysteries of cutting-edge science and technology, the low-altitude Economic Innovation Laboratory of Shanghai Zhongqiao Vocational and Technical University successfully carried out a practical course on AI exploration and application for young people in Room 426, Building 35, at 9:00 am on March 2, 2025. The course attracted many students who are passionate about cutting-edge technology.
At the beginning of the course, Mr. Qi Fuli, director of the UAV specialty of the School of Information Engineering, introduced the theme of What is a UAV cleverly in a vivid and profound way. Mr. Qi explained in detail the precise definitions of different types of UAVs, such as fixed-wing UAVs that rely on wings to generate lift in the airflow to achieve flight, unmanned helicopters that rely on high-speed rotation of propellers to achieve vertical takeoff and landing and hovering, and multi-rotor uAVs that work together with multiple rotors to ensure flight stability. At the same time, Mr. Qi also in-depth analyzed the unique characteristics, significant advantages and limitations of various types of drones.
Mr. Qi Fuli, expanded the topic to the wide application of drones in various fields. From emergency rescue to public security anti-terrorism work, and then to the field of land supervision, drones guard every inch of the country with efficient inspection capabilities. One vivid case after another, let the students deeply understand the close connection between drones and People's Daily life, and truly feel that this technology has quietly integrated into all aspects of social operation.
Mr. Qi Fuli, led the students to conduct drone flying practice and observe the drone airport up close. In the open field, Mr. Qi Fuli skillfully controlled the drone. With the high-speed rotation of the propeller, the drone went smoothly into the air, showing all kinds of wonderful flight actions in the air. The students approached the drone airport in an orderly manner, listened carefully to Mr. Qi's explanation, and actively asked questions, so that the students had a more intuitive understanding of the daily operation and maintenance of drones.
